If your cuticles are dry, cracked or split, it isn’t enough to just apply oil. Oil seals in moisture, so you have to moisturize first. Soak your fingers in warm water for five minutes and then rub in a drop of oil around the edge of each nail while the skin is still damp. Alternatively, apply cuticle oil after every bath or shower while your hands and feet are still damp.
Homemade Cuticle Oil Recipe:
To a tablespoon of olive oil add five drops of tea tree oil or three drops each of tea tree and lavender essential oils. Store in a small bottle with a flip spout so you can easily apply just a drop to each finger or toe cuticle. Massage thoroughly into damp skin.
