Applying facial moisturizer is not rocket science, but you’d be surprised by the number of people who do it incorrectly or don’t know how to. Moisturizers provide a protective layer from the environment, while keeping your skin hydrated & moist. Applying your moisturizer the correct way helps you to get the most from it.
Instructions: *ALWAYS start any skin care routine with washing your hands. Clean hands prevents contaminating your skin care products and the spread of germs on your skin.
Step 1: Gently wash your face and apply toner if it is part of your routine. Lightly pat the excess water off your face with a clean towel, leaving your skin damp.
Step 2: Open your moisturizer, and put little dabs of cream on your cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin. Beginning at your right or left cheek, gently massage the moisturizer into your skin in small, circular strokes. Continue to your chin, other cheek and forehead, then down to your nose. Massage the moisturizer in until it’s fully absorbed.
Step 3: Apply a small amount of moisturizer to your neck. Massage in an upward stroking motion, until it’s fully absorbed.
Step 4: Allow your facial moisturizer to soak in and dry for two minutes before applying foundation and makeup. Tips: Avoid your eye areas when applying facial moisturizer. Getting it too close to your eyes can cause irritation. Apply a moisturizer in the morning and at night. Use a moisturizer with SPF during the day. Make sure you’re using the right facial moisturizer for your skin type. Don’t overdo it. You only need a few small dabs of moisturizer to effectively hydrate your face.
