Seven Minutes In Heaven: A Sexually Inspired Art Show

As part of Contemporary Art Month in March, Seven Minutes In Heaven returns for it’s fifth year with a whole new set of artists pushing the limits with their sexually inspired, and erotic art. Jessica Garcia, founder and curator of Invisible Gallery, has put together an art event that has left patrons of past shows questioning their own sexual limits. Invisible Gallery will have a one-night stand at 1202 West Elsmere Place on March 5 from 6:00 – 10:00 pm to present Seven Minutes In Heaven 2016. Each artist will exhibit his/her work in separate rooms. Previously, artists have displayed everything from paintings to sculptures to light installations. Between 300-400 guests attended SMIH 2015 held at Fox Motel. Since 2012, artists have delivered an amazing show, and this promises to blow everyone’s expectations. Many local artists have reached out to Garcia asking to participate in this yearly event. The seven artists this year are Albert Alvarez, Erotic in Texas, Foursome (John Atkins, Eden Collins, Jason Eric Gonzales, Martin Rodriguez), JPL PRO (Julian Ledezma & Logan Magz), Kirstine Haynes, Eugene Martinez, and Jose Villalobos. The space for the show every year is also a major part of the ambience. According to the San Antonio Current, Seven Minutes In Heaven has emerged as one of the seasons most buzzed about events. In his Rivard Report, former San Antonio Express-News Editor referred to SMIH as “stimulating,” further saying the event has become a staple of Contemporary Art Month. “I always encourage experimentation and participation, and just really pushing the boundaries,” said Garcia about the artists involved, also adding that she always chooses a venue with separate spaces for each artist to choose their theme and set up their work for display.
