San Antonio natives know how much our city likes to have a great time! With that said, we now have a Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville on our riverwalk. The 315 seat restaurant and bar will be Margaritaville’s first in the state of Texas, offering a fun, family-friendly dining experience combined with an array of island-inspired flavors, live entertainment, a patio overlooking the river and an expansive retail space. Taking a cue from Jimmy Buffett’s country music roots, the restaurant’s design brings together a combination of tropical and southern elements to create a Cowboy in the Jungle dining atmosphere. The over 10,000 square feet venue transports guests to paradise with shades of green and blue, reminiscent of a tropical island, complemented by wood accents and cowboy-inspired décor. Options abound to dine or simply relax with drinks, including a covered, outdoor 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar overlooking the river and an elevated indoor Tiki Bar. Margaritaville San Antonio is a great spot for lunch, happy hour with friends, dinner, and any type of celebration.
The Margaritaville menu invites guests to unwind with house-made margaritas, frozen boat drinks and cold LandShark Lager along with signature food items like the Cheeseburger in Paradise and Volcano Nachos. Other notable menu items include Buttermilk Fried Chicken, and the “Drunken” Shrimp Skillet with roasted garlic, onions, peppers and tequila key lime butter served with a mini baguette. For those of you that personally know me, I had to try their Landshark Lager Fish and Chips, while my mom had the beach tacos. Let’s just say both entrees did not disappoint and we had leftovers, the portions are amazing. As they say, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere…we took advantage of the getaway vibe and enjoyed a nice cold LandShark Lager and Blackberry Moonshine Margarita. Our whole dining experience was great; the staff checked up on us frequently, our beverages were never left empty, and the music playing was awesome.
For those of you that love live music on the riverwalk, Margaritaville will have to areas for just that; one area outside overlooking the riverwalk (which will be lovely during the holidays) and the other inside the restaurant. With my brother being a musician and playing a couple of nights during the week at Margaritaville, it looks like my family and I will become regulars. I love beachy vacations, great service, delicious food, and a nice cool adult beverage to go with it, and Margaritaville definitely has all that and some. Margaritaville will be open daily at 11 a.m., with the retail store opening at 10 a.m. Live nightly entertainment will take place on the patio from 5 – 8:30 p.m. and on the inside stage from 9 p.m. – midnight.
