One of my travel goals this year is to make time to pamper myself where ever I am visiting. Being in the luxury hotel spa industry as an esthetician and trainer for over 20 years, I figure its my turn to be the client now. Being on the road for hours at a time, interviewing people for my blog, and walking throughout a city being a tourist can take a toll on your body. A spa day for some wellness at the Woodhouse Day Spa in Corpus Christi, Texas is just what was needed when we visited for a weekend getaway. The Woodhouse massages are bit unique as they incorporate a foot cleansing ritual and essential oil treatment to induce deep relaxation. The spa’s “touch with intent” technique gave you a sense of healing as well. The therapeutic massage we received combined trigger point therapy and a bit of stretching. Our therapists were highly educated in their techniques and how each one benefited our bodies. Stress was the last thing on our minds as we were getting our massages.

What I loved most about the Woodhouse in Corpus Christi is how the staff was friendly and smiling as soon as you walked into the spa; they were also very professional. You not only feel welcomed; you feel at home. The aromatherapy filled air in the spa was also a nice touch that instantly relaxed you. When most people visit Corpus Christi, Texas, they go for the aquarium and to visit the beach. Take some time for yourself and group of girlfriends for some relaxation at the spa next time you are in town.
