Poteet, Texas Strawberryville Farm

Poteet, Texas Strawberryville Farm

Nothing like great spring time weather, adventures, and a country drive. All was perfect for the couple of days I took off from work to spend with the nephews during their spring break. This week we had the privilege of getting a private preview of the Poteet, Texas Strawberryville Farm. The farm is owned by Jose and Lorena Dominguez who are local farmers of Poteet, Texas. They participate in the annual Poteet Strawberry Festival. The farm was opened for us to explore by their sweet daughter Lindsay who was very knowledgeable about the farm and berries; she made us feel right at home which made our experience even nicer.

The nephews, my Sissy, Mom, and I strolled throughout the farm in search of the reddest berries to pick. Not only was it fun but, also educational for the boys to look through the plants and see the different colors, shapes, and sizes of the berries as they were all in different growth stages. The Poteet, Texas Strawberryville Farm isn’t huge which made it easy to walk around the entire thing without getting exhausted. The strawberry picking experience is good for all ages. All 3 of the nephews enjoyed it and are ready to do it again.

Pack up the family for a road trip on Friday, March 16th or Sunday, March 18th to pick some fresh strawberries! The Poteet, Texas Strawberryville Farm is located at 9022 W FM 476, Poteet, Texas 78065. The farm entrance and parking are free and baskets to put your picked berries in is provided. Never picked strawberries before? No worries. The Dominguez family will thoroughly educate you on how to pick the berries before you began. (A photo booth set-up will be available as well and they will email your pictures to you.) Berries are weighed before purchasing and don’t forget to bring CASH.

After our strawberry picking adventure, we went home to give the berries a bath. You know what’s more fun than picking the strawberries at the farm? Eating them. They were sweet, juicy, and it was hard to stop eating them. If you make it out to the farm, don’t forget to check-in on their Facebook page, and tell them I sent ya!
