If you have been following my blog for a bit, you know by now that small Texas towns are my favorite to visit. When I visit them, I have made it a priority to spend one full day and evening in the town, meeting locals, trying the restaurants in the area, and visiting scenic sights. On my second day (or depending how long I am in town for…) I dedicate one whole day and evening to where I am staying at. When I spent a weekend in Dripping Springs, Texas, my stay at The Alexander at Creek Road was one I did not want to end.
The Alexander at Creek Road is a little getaway within a getaway. The location is in countryside of the little town and in the hill country. As soon as you drive in you get this peaceful feeling. The Alexander at Creek Road is 40 acres of scenic views and serenity. Every morning we enjoyed a beautiful hill country sunrise and sunset right outside of our cabin, Lucky Star. The day we took to stay in and enjoy our cabin, the weather was gloomy and misty but, we had plenty of blankets and pillows that kept us warm and snug.
Lucky Star Cabin was not only homey and comfortable, it was also my favorite color and a perfect size for my mom and I. The cabin had 2 queen size beds which were so hard to get out of because you were tempted to stay in them all day, a kitchenette with a Keurig, microwave, and mini fridge, sitting area that was perfect for me to get some work done, and a full bath. What I loved about the cabin was the cute front porch area and the private outdoor deck. We were visited quite a bit by a beautiful cardinal and he even tapped on our window.
If you love small Texas towns, The Alexander at Creek Road is close by quite a few of them since they are just 2 miles away from highway 290. One of my favorite parts of the property was the outdoor wedding venue area, close by indoor event venue, “Windsong Barn”, there is huge oak tree that glistens at sunset you must see for yourself. When my mom and I took a stroll around The Alexander, we saw rabbits, many species of birds, and it was nice to connect without city noise.
The owner of The Alexander at Creek Road was gracious and gave me a tour of the entire place along with peeking inside all the cottages; each had its own hand-picked décor. All cottages and cabins are just a walk away from “Windsong Barn”. The barn is lovely with its elegantly rustic décor and natural light coming through the windows, it’s a perfect spot for not only weddings, but also family reunions, retreats, and parties. What makes The Alexander at Creek Road special is, you never have to leave if you are hosting an event or having a family wedding or get together, with its on-site lodging for 30 guests. Need a getaway? This is the place to go. Like The Alexander at Creek Road on Facebook!
