Float Away to Tranquility at FLOAT SA

Float Away to Tranquility at FLOAT SA

Two things I love: being in the water and getting pampered. I now found a place that allows me to do both without being in the hot sun. Thanks to FLOAT, I was able to turn off the outside world off and drift away into a tranquil state through floatation therapy. Floatation therapy affects us in another notable way; as our brains become stimuli starved, their reaction is to start creating their own stimuli. Swirling nebulas, distant forgotten memories, and untapped creativity are a sampling of experiences that people have reported from their time in the tank.

Floating: A way for you to be put into a deep state of physical and mental relaxation by spending time in a float tank. (also known as a pod, sensory deprivation tank, or isolation tank.)

The staff at FLOAT make you feel right at home the moment you walk in. You’re taken to a private area to change into a comfortable plush robe, place your belongings in a locker, and a staff member will go over all the details of your session. Afterwards, we were taken to a room that made you feel like you were laying under the stars and seated in this amazing massage chair. Having gone to massage school myself, I can honestly say this was the next best thing to an actual massage therapist working on you. It was so relaxing, it was so hard to get out of the chair.

After our chair massage was over, we were guided into a private pod room. Before entering the pod, there is a shower available (shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are available.) for you to wash up. You can get into the pod in your bathing or birthday suit. Once you are in the pod, you are given 60 minutes to float in water 10″ deep with 1000 lbs. of Epsom salt. The water is kept at 93.5 degrees. Additional benefits of floating include: Stress reduction, increased creativity, increased sensory acuity/reaction time, improved sleep schedule maintenance, feelings of euphoria.

If you wondering what FLOAT looks like inside, think of it like a spa atmosphere with multiple massage rooms; the only difference is, the rooms have the float pods in them. They do have massage therapy available as well. The experience was unique and is something I will do again. After I got home from my float session, I sleep better than I had in months.
