RVing with the family is always a fun thing to do. Having the 3 nephews with us, we always want to make sure the RV resort we are staying in has all the amenities we need to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We found all we needed at the Colonia Del Rey RV Park and more. 

Location, location, location… If last minute items are needed for the beach or you need groceries, there are plenty of stores close by. Colonia Del Rey RV Park is conveniently close by Walmart, HEB grocery store, gas stations, the library, post office, and military facilities. 

Most of our time was spent at the beach. We did take full advantage of the on-site swimming pool which was a short walk away from our RV slot. One bathroom in an RV for a family to share can push your dinner plans late, but, with the shower facilities available, we were all able to clean up, change at the same time, and make it to dinner quickly.

Fun Things to Do

North Padre Island beach is about 8 miles from the RV park. Other fun attractions near-by are the USS Lexington, Whooping Crane Tours, Whataburger Field, home of the Corpus Christi Hooks, Marine Science building in Port Aransas, Christmas House, and the Botanical Gardens. 

If you want to take a break from deep sea fishing and hanging out at the beach, there is always the Greyhound Race Track, Ice Rays hockey games, Islanders basketball games, and concerts at the American Center. The list on what to do is endless and close by.
