One of the coolest things (to me) when touring small towns is the unique places I stay at when visiting. When you think of staying at a place unique, cozy, and ambient… The Dofflemyer Hotel is exactly that.
The boutique hotel is located in the historic district of downtown of San Saba, Texas. The hotel is very different from other hotels I have stayed at. Unlike the usual check-in at the lobby, at the Dofflemyer, all reservations, requests, etc. are taken care of online.
There are 5 uniquely decorated rooms and 1 suite; all rooms are located on the 2nd floor. Oliver and Co. is located on the first floor. The family owned restaurant business makes the best sandwiches and blueberry tea. You can also find homemade candies, homemade ice cream, and gourmet coffee there.
Our room at the Dofflemyer was very comfortable and what made it more relaxing was the lighting. The décor was really nice too. To me, it was a combination of contemporary and Texas flair.
The Dofflemyer Hotel rooms all have a private bathroom, desk, TV, and seating. Being in the spa industry for over 20+ years, I appreciated the luxury spa bath products, bath robes, and hair dryer. Thankfully, with the free Wi-Fi and complimentary coffee bar, I was able to get a bit of work done while I was there.
The hotel is perfect for a weekend getaway, romantic road trip, and a girl’s weekend. As much as I love my fur-baby and would like to bring him with me next time, the Dofflemyer does not accommodate pets.
The Dofflemyer Hotel’s located at 108 S High Street, San Saba, TX 76877. The locations is conveniently close by and walking distance to many of the shops, wineries, and parks of San Saba. For more information about the hotel, visit their website.
