Halloween (my favorite holiday) is around the corner. Every year, I spend the Spooktacular holiday with my 3 nephews. This is an exciting time of year but, our biggest concerns are the safety of the nephews’ and our unpredictable weather. South Texas has been raining for weeks now. Rain and cool temperatures in the evenings can make a night of trick or treating no fun.
Here are some alternatives:
Visit a Theme Park or Zoo
Theme parks are usually prepared for bad weather and have family friendly indoor activities planned out for holidays. In my experience of spending Halloween at a theme park and the zoo, it’s been fun, educational, and there are activities for all ages.
Stay in your community
Schools, community centers, and malls have become great places for neighborhoods to get together for holidays. Nothing like hanging out with your local community and keeping warm indoors while trick or treating.
Halloween Fact: Most people (73%) purposefully buy more Halloween candy than they needed for trick-or-treaters, so they can eat the extra.
Halloween Fact: Four in 10 adults say that they enjoy the holiday even more now than when they were a child. For 37% of these adults, the reason why is because there’s no limit on the amount of candy they can consume.
Host a potluck
Get a group of friends and family together and host a potluck. Bring a Halloween specialty dish, dessert, and drinks to enjoy while sharing scary stories.
Pumpkin Painting or Carving
Get artsy on Halloween by carving or painting pumpkins. Stream spooky sounds or ghoulish tunes to get you more in the spooky mood and inspire your works of art.
Scary Movie Marathon
Host a scary movie night! Pick out a few Halloween classics, clear out your living room floor, and snuggle up with some friends with a bunch of blankets and pillows.
Candy Fun
Splurge on your favorite candies and/or make your own candies at home. With Google and Pinterest, there are so many ways to get recipes.
Brushing Routines
Because we tend to splurge a bit more on sweets and candies during this time year, with products like Crest and keeping up with our brushing routines, we are sure to keep our smile gleaming.
