Courtyard San Antonio SeaWorld Staycation
Marriot Courtyard San Antonio SeaWorld/Westover Hills Hotel
Last year in December, the nephews and I enjoyed a staycation right in the Northwest area of our home city. We stayed at the Courtyard San Antonio SeaWorld/Westover Hills and visited SeaWorld San Antonio.
According to Dictionary.com, a staycation is “a vacation spent at home or near home, doing enjoyable activities or visiting local attractions.”
Courtyard San Antonio SeaWorld/Westover Hills is owned and operated by Marriott International. The Courtyard was founded in 1983 and as of September 2018, has 1,184 properties in 47 countries.
Hotel Location and Amenities
Located at 11605 State Highway 151 in San Antonio, the hotel has 4 floors with 130 rooms and 49 suites. Our weekend was cozy and spent in a Royal Queen suite which consisted of 2 queen beds, 1 sofa bed, and a balcony- courtyard view.
Our hotel room had many great amenities. The luxury bedding, mini fridge, large desk with ergonomic chair, and high-speed internet were some of our favorites.
What I really loved, was the on-site dining options. The Bistro, which is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening cocktails. And, Waves Lounge, which is open for dinner and evening cocktails.
The Courtyard San Antonio SeaWorld/Westover Hills is just down the road from SeaWorld San Antonio. The hotel provides a shuttle to and from the theme park. Our weekend was very enjoyable without having to worry about parking and driving home after the long day/night at the park.
SeaWorld San Antonio
SeaWorld San Antonio is a 250-acre animal theme park, marine mammal park and oceanarium. It is the world’s largest marine-life theme park. Opened in 1988, SeaWorld San Antonio operates year-round and sees approximately 3 million visitors each year.
The park features an array of rides, shows, animal experiences, events, dining options and shopping choices. I was lucky enough to have experienced SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration.
From November through January the park transforms into a wintery wonderland with Christmas shows, festive foods and pictures with Santa Claus. Featuring 9 million holiday lights, it is the largest Christmas light display in Texas.
Spring Break is coming!
With Spring Break around the corner, it’s great to start planning fun things for the family to do. Courtyard San Antonio SeaWorld/Westover not only gives you the convenience of being close to SeaWorld San Antonio, it’s also great place to host out of town family too.
Since the nephews and I visited during the holidays, we didn’t take advantage of the resort style pool and jacuzzi outdoors. However, if you want to go for a swim, there is an indoor pool. The staff at the hotel was amazing and made us feel right at home. We will be back soon.
